CPU usage?

Does anyone else have problems with high CPU usage? I stopped playing for about a half year, and lichess was really snappy back then, I was the blitz master hehe ^^ Now when playing my moves lag about 1 second behind, even though I have already disabled move animations. My CPU is around 60-80% when playing. Playing blitz or bullet is no fun this way, really. I feel like my thinking is slowing down. I am using Firefox if that matters.

I mean this is not a graphical real-time browser game, there should be hardly anything to calculate. Just sending moves from and to the server. Where does the CPU usage come from? Does anyone have a solution maybe based on blocking certain unnecessary scripts?

Try chrome. Firefox sucks.

I don't think that's lichess. Your computer is probably running something else in the background. Or perhaps there is a browser plugin that is taking up CPU.

Disabling animations isn't going to change anything.

If you want, you can try a different browser to see if that helps.

These sorts of complaints are really pointless without details. What hardware are you using? pc/phone/tablet/etc/etc? What's the spec (cpu, ram, gfx cards etc)? What os? Which version of the browser? Internet connection type/speed? Have you fully updated all software/drivers? Tried without plugins? Tried different browsers?
