Super GM Height Analysis

The newer generation of Super GMs (2700+) seem to of all of a sudden become drastically shorter than their predecessors. Alexander Grischuk is probably the youngest Super GM (age 33 now) that is 6'0 or taller. The majority of Super GMs older than him are also 6'0 or taller (Kramnik, Svidler, Leko etc). I don't think there is a single Super GM younger than him though that is taller than 5'9. Thoughts?
They couldn't play basketball so they switched to chess, the taller people are busy playing basketball
A lower centre of gravity is a distinct advantage in chess. You are sat down for long periods of time, sometimes beyond six hours. This benefits the shorter player; they are more compact and economical with their body and its movement when over the board, consuming less energy. It's the equivalent of the pro cyclist's 'aero tuck', which they do to burn less calories and go faster for longer.

Conversely, taller GMs tend to leak energy. They are more likely to get up and walk around more between moves to stretch and relieve their extremities, which has a direct negative impact on higher level cognitive functions of the brain.

There's no real evidence for this, but it is scientific fact.
Fischer was tall and Geller played basketball.
