How many warnings of cheating did you get?

So I never cheated, but in one of my recent games my opponent got detected for cheating. Since his account is new, (my game was his 8th), is "cheat detected" a warning for him? Can he keep playing? Just asking. And yes, how many more "cheat detected" losses are for him?
One cheat detection always requires an appeal before being able to play properly again.
If the cheating continues, then a ban will likely occur.
This means your opponent used one of the cheating devices that Lichess can detect automatically and instantly, e.g. Lichess' own analysis board.
There are reasons why this could sometimes happen accidentally, that's why one Cheat detected game is commonly not a ban, but continuing this behavior definitely won't do him well
@InkyDarkBird that's partially wrong, it's not like you're de facto banned already (without being marked) and needing an appeal

I meant "before being able to play properly" as being forced to only play cheaters and having the TOS violation mark.

Yeah, that's wrong as the CT is not a mark per se.

Well so my friend had a cheat detected loss and continued to play normally without appeal. He never cheated again
