I lost because I left. Lol.

.
Please fix this. It's not even my turn.
@szc19 no, this is not getting 'fixed'. If you leave the game for a significant period of time you can lose - you just have to accept it. It stops people letting the clock run out
I think the problem here is that it wasn't his turn, I would compare it to standing up when your opponent is thinking (in an otb game) and then learning that you lost the game because you were walking around for too long
A few games ago, my opponent left the game in a losing position. I thought he wanted to be annoying, leaving the game instead of resigning. But around 30 seconds after he left, I was able to claim victory.

Lichess let your opponent win because you had disconnected for some time. The server code probably thought you wanted to waste your opponent’s time just because you were losing.

But you still shouldn’t have left the game.

I am complaining also in the mobile app. I'm texting someone and go back and forth to the game only to realize I lost the game in the middlegame because I left; this is nonsense; if you play classical 15+15 for instance you expect your oponnent take any time he wants to play his move. Also some people like to play simultaneous chess where they face many oponnents at once; so the time shoudl be yours and you can use it the way you want. I lost many games this way with the mobile app; really annoying!
It does not matter whose turn it is if the opponent has disconnected. The same principle applies in USCF and FIDE games if the opponent leaves the playing area.

That said it's super frustrating for players to lose by disconnection when they appear to have a stable internet connection.
