swiss tournament

why don't tournaments on lichess hold in Swiss-system and surne-burn berger?
Swiss tournaments with Sonnenborn-Berger tiebreakers require all players to be present for the next round.
Arena format allows players to enter after the start or to take a pause for whatever reason and for whatever duration.
Players also like the streak starter and the Berserk possibilities.
If the site administration would have introduced the Swiss tournament system, the number of people on the website would be increased, as many can not tolerate this too energetic games in the arena
"the number of people on the website would be increased" what makes you think that?
"many can not tolerate this too energetic games in the arena" what do you mean by that? The games are the same, only the paring, the scoring, and the tie-breakers are different.
1. The fact that on Lichess tournaments will be Swiss system attract people. It does not need to eliminate the arena.
2. The game is the same, but the arena does not give rest. You need to hurry to score points, often playing with halved time. Some players don't like it. In a tournament with the Swiss system after your game, you can take a breath, to see the play the remaining pairs. In the arena, if you want to take a high place, you can't do that.
1; This may be true, but it may also be false. Say the developers go through all the trouble to enable Swiss tournaments and then the total attendance goes down, what then?
2. On the contrary, arena gives rest. You can visit the restroom, drink something, take a phone call: just pause. With Swiss you have to be there when pairings are up. When you have a longer game in Swiss, pairings are up right after you finish: no rest at all. You do not have to berserk, you can finish high just by the streak starter.
As an experiment it would be possible to introduce the ability to create tournaments according to the Swiss system. At least a month. To follow the reaction of the players. If the innovation is not to be popular, just to leave as before.
Here's an idea: Propose a closed swiss tournament using the forum. Give it a name, set a date and have your friends join or open the tournament to join a limited joining list, say max 30 players so you don't get overwhelmed by the size of the tournament. When the time comes, use a pairing software or do it manually, like an OTB tournament in town.

If 30 people join, it shows some interest.
If hardly no one joins, pick another time and date.
You might have to try another day of the week until you find the best day for 30 players.

If nobody joins then it will have saved time and effort for the programmers to create the swiss tournament.
Lichess used to have swiss about 2 years ago, it was not very popular.

There was a lot of code changes to tournaments to make them work better, and swiss didn't survive.
The Swiss system will increase the waiting time between each game by a factor 4 to 5. Boring !
