I would try to track down if it is an issue with your system.
Try some other browsers to see if it works.
Deactivate all plugins, in chrome?
Reinstall chrome?
What version of Chrome are you using, and does the Chrome Console indicate any javascript errors?
adblock is doing that, at least in my case
