Is the rating system working well?

In the following game, I got 12 points for winning. My opponent had 57 more points than me.

In this game, however, my opponent had 58 more than me, but when he won he got 16 points.

How is it possible?
Glicko2 is a bunch of math which includes both rating and deviation (which you can see on your profile lichess.org/@/Sipo/perf/classical), then there's volatility. I don't know exactly how it works, but yes it works somewhat well :)
the one that was 58 more than you had probably not played a large amount of games yet, and therefor their rating fluctuates more than someone who has a definable rating with a lot of games to back it up.
