Did Lichess' berserk "math" fail badly?

Yesterday I have joined a "2+2" random chess tournament and met a player who berserked me. I was surprised, however, that his INITIAL time wasn't halved, that is to say - only his ADDED time halved from 2 to 1 second, but he still had 2 started minutes which weren't changed.

Now, in my understanding of "berserk" feature; there should be halving of BOTH initial and added time. In said case, a berserker in a game of "2+2" tempo should have a "1+1" tempo available, otherwise a discussed "berserk" feature loses its whole meaning altogether...
... but, of course, correct me if my math - from my math knowledge and experience "1+1" is still exactly half of "2+2". If something revolutionary didn't take place in mathematics lately, I trust it should still be so, right?

Could someone give me a damn good explanation what happened with good old elementary math, and why it doesn't apply to "berserk"? According to a lichess description, a berserking time should be exactly halved, and a logics commands that it affects BOTH initial and added time.

Are you sure it was 2+2?

Arena Berserk

When a player clicks the Berserk button at the beginning of the game, they lose half of their clock time, but the win is worth one extra tournament point.
Going Berserk in time controls with an increment also cancels the increment. (1+2 is an exception, it gives 1+0)
Berserk is not available for games with zero initial time (0+1, 0+2).
Berserk only grants an extra point if you play at least 7 moves in the game.

Sounds quite strange, to be honest - a berserker's ADDED time goes to zero, and his INITIAL time remains the same? What the heck ??!

I don't think it works according to berserk's "spirit" - let's get serious here, wouldn't "1+1" be perfectly logical berserk outcome o "2+2"?

I believe the mentioned berserk game is the one I lost (the second one). Strange, but it's not recorded in recorded/saved games that the "berserk" has been applied where it was (perhaps it should?)
