Berserking does not affect ratings, only tournament points. A berserked win only produces an additional tournament point.
You lose more of your rating when you lose to players of similar or lower ratings. You don't ever lose tournament points. Berserking has nothing to do with rating, and it does not "make you play 200 points weaker". It just gives you less time to use against an opponent.

fyi the strongest players still win the tournament, the middling players still end up in the middle, and the bad players still end up at the bottom.

@vayomer_elohim did you just decide what is related to chess and what isn't? --> "berserking has nothing to do with chess and adds nothing to tournament play". Sounds to me like you are really trying to dictate what other's opinions should be... Have you thought that maybe somewhere in the planet, there is one person that thinks "oh wow! I can cut my time in half and try to win more points! Great!"?

many people are fooled into thinking they are getting something when they are getting nothing.
that extra point for a berserked game is fool's gold. I have seen so many strong players put up 0 after 0 after 0 because they are berserking all their games, when if they just played with their full time they'd be putting up 4's.
and as for people who win all their games while berserking, well, they're just playing in a tournament that's too weak for them. I will never understand where the joy is in beating up on little children.

if that is the case, then it is the people at fault not the system because they arent being smart with how to play. Rarely do i see some with a high berserk rate and low win rate, those players are often not going to win the game either way.
Also those who berserk and always win aren't entering <U2000 tournaments.
