How to counter fried liver attack?

yeah to be fair, anand was better all game until to the blunder, though also to black's credit the game never totally dried out.

i don't have any "serious" traxler games to post unfortunately (and they wouldn't be master level anyway) :p
as you move up, expect to see 5 Bxf7+ most of the games, and to fight a small short uphill battle where you turn the game around by better familiarity with the positions.

it sucks that you still should be prepared for 5 Nxf7 because it has some very tough lines that are critical for the soundness of the traxler :p

2 Nf3 Nc6
3 Bc4 Nf6 (Two Knights Defence)
4 Ng5 d5
5 exd5 Nd4 (this first move permit a great combination if White does not know!)
6 d6 Qxd6
7 Nxf7 Qc6
8 Nxh8?? Qxg2!! (threating checkmate)
9 Rf1 Qe4+!!
10 Be2?? Nf3#

If 6 c3 i play usually 6 ... Nf5 and the game goes on :P

but i think that Black position, even if it is a difficult one, permit great possibilities also with 6 c3 Nf5
