A few years ago, I witnessed a total solar eclipse. It is a completely out of this world experience. It gets gradually colder, and light goes progressively dimmer, until for three magic minutes, it goes totally dark and you can witness the Sun obstructed by the Moon.
The sun crown is not yellow as I saw in photographs before. It is mostly white, with ethereal blueish and violet tones. You can see strange hairs of light dancing on the ground. An absolutely beautiful, magic thing to see, that magnificent thing in the sky, in the midst of the dark.
We were thousands on a beach, and we just cheered, spontaneously. It strikes me that for that to happen, our Moon is on the right distance, with the right size in relation to the Sun. Lucky we, passengers of this beautiful planet, for such a brief moment in time.

The moon makes my body hair grow long and gnarly.

The moon looks so tiny, mom! And I can even grab it in my hands!
Lots of Actors have also been to the Moon, Christopher Reeve, Tom Hanks, Neil Armstrong, the list goes on. :).
